The Weekend Warrior: Snapped

Posted on May 28, 2008 @ 3:24 PM

There have been some quality waves kicking around over the past week with light winds and generous lashings of swell. Rotto has had some great days, down south has been smoking and even Perth has had some fun little bumps for the city slickers. The stormy mega-swell at the end of last week stirred up some good sandbanks too.

The same reefie from last Tuesday was on again this weekend. Margs was a solid 3.5m with light variable winds all day Sunday, but the ocean was in a funk from the preceding few days of strong winds.

Monday was the day with clean ENE winds and a solid 3.0m SW swell.

The Margs boys were amongst it again, pulling into some draining pits.

The ledgy tubes this joint throws out are renowned for snapping boards. This poor lad had only surfed his shiny new shooter four times before a stray lip cleft it in twain.

It’s looking good for the weekend with light winds forecast from Friday to Tuesday and plenty of fresh swell. Into it!
